I finally got a good used copy. Abba Father is really a must have. For other titles along with Amazon links, here is a good resource:5/5(2). This is a book of "spiritual conferences".

They read like homilies, I thought. The focus is on the mystery of God's Fatherhood, and how God leads people to Himself. This is a good book to read when you only have a little bit of time for spiritual reading each day, because the chapters are short and self-contained/5.

Calling God Abba or Father was a unique contribution of Jesus to the Judeo-Christian tradition. Before Jesus, we have no clear record of public prayer referring to God as Father. It would probably have been scandalous to refer to God as Abba because it implied a level of intimacy that ancient Jews were uncomfortable with.
